Biography
Guillermo Cepeda. Composer, arranger, orchestrator, mockup artist, guitarist.
Guillermo received his master’s in musical composition for film, television and videogames at the prestigious Berklee College of Music. Additionally, he was awarded an undergraduate degree in music at the University of San Francisco in Quito. Guillermo has even carried out studies at the Franz Liszt and Mozart conservatories and also completed several musical training courses in Brazil and Argentina.
As a composer, Cepeda has created different musical pieces for film and television using a variety of instruments and ensembles, and is adept at composing for full orchestras. Among his most important works are "Fallen" a piece written for symphonic orchestra and featured in an animated film, "Chroma, Impossible Love" arranged for a string quartet, "Oradour" a brass quintet piece, and "Ammit", a piece composed for woodwind quartet.
Guillermo has defined himself as both a talented musician and instructor, possessing more than ten 10 years of experience teaching in the fields of music theory, harmonics and aural training. He has also given lessons for guitar, composition/arranging and ensembles. Currently he is an adjunct professor at the University of San Francisco in Quito that forms part of the Berklee College of Music network through B.I.N (Berklee International Network).
For his work as an instrumentalist, Cepeda has earned acclaim by winning the National Classical Guitar Contest in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Additionally, he has served as both member and director of multiple music ensembles, whose genres range from rock, jazz, blues and funk to Ecuadorian and Brazilian music.
As a guitarist, Guillermo has performed with both nationally and internationally renowned artists such as the Japanese violinist Tadashi Maeda.
